Power Transformers

WEG has four transformer plants in Brazil and two plants in Mexico that are focused on energy generation, transmission and distribution. These well developed production facilities are designed with state-of-the-art machines and equipment that can manage the most rigorous designs for any transformer in our product line. WEG produces step-up and step-down power transformers and autotransformers up to 350 MVA and 550 kV. As an experienced transformer supplier, WEG knows how important it is to supply machines that are optimized to meet customer requirements, such as loss limitations, noise levels, dimensions and weights, and provides engineering considering any kind of application. WEG transformers are well renowned for their high performance and proven reliability.

Turbogenerators for Cogeneration

V.J. Pamensky Canada Inc. supplies turbogenerators for cogeneration applications with outputs up to 50,000 kVA. WEG turbogenerators are designed with advanced software, which were developed in conjunction with Universities of Europe, USA and Brazil, ensuring high accuracy along with cost reduction and superior efficiency. WEG’s V.P.I. (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) system guarantees high quality insulation and stator coil protection for all generators. The special epoxy used in the V.P.I. system provides ideal insulation for generators and has no harmful emissions. WEG has complete control of the analysis, understanding and optimization process of electric machines under normal and transient service duty. WEG have accreditation for a Quality System in accordance with ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements. The quality system is audited and certified by the Bureau Veritas Quality Institute. To meet the world’s most demanding markets, WEG generators bear most certifications by internationally recognized certifying entities.

Hydrogenerators and Controls

In addition to turbogenerators, V.J. Pamensky Canada Inc. and WEG also supply hydrogenerators with outputs from 500 to 25,000 kVA. WEG’s hydrogenerators and controls are ideally suited for power generation applications in Hydro-electric plants. WEG’s V.P.I. (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) system guarantees high quality insulation and stator coil protection for all generators. Synchronous Generators for Stand-by Power

WEG’s experience in the manufacturing, production capacity and testing of generators has paved the way for the G Line of brushless synchronous generators. These generators are fitted with an electronic voltage regulator. Available up to 4200 kVA, the G line of generators are mainly applied on diesel and gas generator sets as well as on steam and hydraulic turbines. They are suitable to operate on all emergency or continuous operation applications in industrial, commercial, marine, telecommunication, mining areas, in addition to condominiums, irrigation purposes, hospitals and others.

Low and Medium Voltage Motors for Various Applications

WEG provides AC motors to meet the most exacting specifications or application demands. WEG motors use the proprietary WISE Wire insulation system that provides the windings with increased dielectric resistance. This allows VFD operation up to 575V without requiring modification to the motor. This also extends the motor’s lifetime. The new W22 line of WEG electric motors also provides lowered operational costs by offering higher efficiency over its designed lifetime.

WEG low voltage electric motors are built using cast iron from WEG’s own on-site foundries. The W22 line of electric motors also features a redesigned frame that assures maximum durability and performance under any conditions. WEG’s large line of VFD’s is especially suited for these applications.

WEG also offers medium voltage motors for various applications. WEG’s H Line of motors has motors ranging from 220 to 11,000 V with outputs up to 5,000 HP. With simple and compact cast iron construction, H Line motors are widely used due to their high reliability making them suitable for the majority of the driven machines found in industries. The frame construction consists of a high resistance solid block and it is fitted with external cooling fins. The whole cooling system, which consists of an internal and an external air flow, provides a homogeneous blow of cooling air inside the frame for maximum performance of such motors.

Motors, VFD’s and Transformers for the Nuclear Industry

WEG also provides low and medium voltage motors, Variable Frequency Drives and Transformers that are well-suited for use in Nuclear Power Generation facilities.
